While most of the program for the Milford Readers & Writers Festival is free, the “mainstage” events at the Milford Theatre—featuring John Berendt, author of Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, MK Asante, author of Buck: A Memoir, and human rights icon Gloria Steinem, author of My Life on the Road—are now on sale for $35 per event.

Each author event will be an interactive session between the writer and an audience of readers.

John Berendt – Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

A Conversation with John Berendt, author of best-sellers Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, (which was made into a major motion picture directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Kevin Spacey, Jude Law, and John Cusack) and The City of Falling Angels.  Berendt will be interviewed by Milford Mayor Sean Strub. Saturday, October 1, 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. at the Milford Theatre.

MK Asante – Buck: A Memoir

A Conversation with MK Asante, author of Buck: A Memoir, award winning filmmaker, hip hop artist and college professor, who has been called “the voice of a new generation.”  Asante will be interviewed by writer Amy Ferris.  Saturday, October 1, 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. at the Milford Theater.

Gloria Steinem – Human Rights Activist and author of My Life on the Road

A Conversation with Gloria Steinem, human rights activist and best selling author of My Life on the Road. Steinem will be interviewed by her long-time friend, Suzanne Braun Levine.  Saturday, October 1, 2:45 – 4:00 p.m. at the Milford Theatre

Plenary Session

Plenary Session With Berendt, Asante and Steinem.  All three authors will exchange observations and insights among themselves and with the audience. Interviewed by intellectual property attorney and literary agent Bob Levine.  Saturday, October 1, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the Milford Theatre.
