Judy Kentrus - Award Winning Romance Writer

Friday, September 18, 2026
Time: 12:30 – 2 pm
Pike County Public Library

You’ve thought about writing a book, but where do you start? In the next hour, we’ll discuss the basic “parts” of a book.

Title: Does it fit the storyline? Types of Genres, Character Development – Hero and Heroine, Setting, Time of Year, How did they meet? Internal or External Conflict; Main Conflict of the Story; What will the ending be like? In a romance, what will happen to make them fall in love or recognize what they’ve been fighting? Mystery: Who did it? Science Fiction: Does the world end? Horror: Does humanity survive, or is it just the beginning of something else?

But here’s the fun part. You’re not going to write the actual book. As I introduce each category, you’ll fill in the information on the provided pad and then pass your booklet to the person to your right.

At the end of the presentation, you will get your book back, and each person will have contributed to the storyline. Attendees will be invited to share their stories.
