I’m looking forward to interviewing John Berendt on Saturday morning at the Milford Theatre for the Milford Readers and Writers Festival.  We’ll talk about Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, of course, and The Lady Chablis (see John’s post about The Lady Chablis here).  We’ll also talk about the new Metabook of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Never heard of a Metabook?  Neither had I, until they produced an amazing app for iPhones and iPads that not only includes the book, but is “filled with exclusive content, stunning visuals, and immersive media.”  It includes an audio drama reading of the book (LaVerne Cox plays The Lady Chablis), a video of John and Alfred Uhry talking about Uhry’s upcoming adaptation of the book for a stage production, original crime scene photographs, “where are they now” updates, audio recordings made by Jim Williams and so much more.

“Get into a book like never before: Metabook brings multimedia interaction to reading.” -CNN

“Buckle your seat belts, bibliophiles! The new app from Metabook that’s now available exclusively in Apple’s App Store doesn’t revisit ‘Midnight’ so much as reinvent it.” -The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
