Great mysteries are about more than a puzzling crime. They are about the characters who embark on an investigation in the name of justice; a town reeling from secrets; and a victim that won’t be forgotten. Come join a panel of mystery authors as they discuss their books, inspiration, heroes, villains, and twisty plots.

Mally Becker

Mally Becker is the two-time Agatha Award-nominated author of the Revolutionary War mysteries, which include The Turncoat’s Widow, The Counterfeit Wife, and, most recently, The Paris Mistress. Weaving together fictional and historical events, Mally’s stories feature George Washington’s two least likely spies, Becca Parcell and Daniel Alloway, as they search for spies in revolutionary-era Morristown, New York City, Philadelphia, and Paris.

Mally was an attorney and volunteer advocate for foster children until becoming a full-time writer. She also leads mystery writing workshops at The Writers Circle, interviews authors for the Historical Novel Society’s website, co-hosts a monthly Podcast with three other female crime writers, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Upper Hudson chapter of Sisters in Crime. She and her husband live in Somerset County, New Jersey.

Tim-Maleeny

Tim Maleeny

Tim Maleeny is the bestselling author of the award-winning Cape Weathers mysteries and the comedic thriller JUMP, which Publishers Weekly calls “a perfectly blended cocktail of escapism.” His latest is a global art heist called HANGING THE DEVIL, praised by Library Journal for its “relentlessly fast-paced plot with delightful dry humor” in a starred review.

Tim has won both the Macavity and Lefty Awards, and his short fiction appears in several leading anthologies. He has written in the voice of an octopus and once killed a character with a toaster. The Irish Times declares, “If comic crime fiction is your thing, Tim Maleeny delivers in spades.” He lives and writes at an undisclosed location in New York City.

Lori Robbins

Lori Robbins

Lori Robbins writes the On Pointe and Master Class mystery series and is a contributor to The Secret Ingredient: A Mystery Writers Cookbook. She won the Indie Award for Best Mystery, two Silver Falchions, and is a finalist for the Daphne du Maurier Award for Mystery and Suspense. Short stories include “Leading Ladies” which received Honorable Mention in the 2022 Best American Mystery and Suspense anthology. A former dancer, Lori performed with a number of modern dance and classical ballet companies, but it was her commercial work, for Pavlova
Perfume and Macy’s, that paid the bills. After ten very lean years onstage she became an English teacher and now writes full-time. Lori is co-president of the New York chapter of Sisters in Crime and an expert in the homicidal tendencies everyday life inspires.
